Ryan Schaefer

Founder, Chief Executive Officer

Ryan co-founded the predecessor entity to Truestead Group in 2003, building the firm over more than two decades into a respected real estate investment and development company with deep roots across Northern Colorado and the western United States.

Ryan has transacted hundreds of millions of dollars across land, multifamily, industrial, retail, and medical deals — a foundation of market expertise that directly informs Truestead Group investment and development work, which has added hundreds of millions more in apartments, shopping centers, and land development across the western United States. Through it all, Ryan has been guided by the conviction that lasting real estate value is built through market knowledge, strategic decision-making, long-term relationships, and genuine community investment — a philosophy reflected in his leadership as past Chair of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, past Chair of the Larimer Humane Society, and former President of the Northern Colorado Commercial Association of Realtors. Ryan was honored to be named Colorado State University’s 2018 Real Estate Entrepreneur of the Year by the Everitt Real Estate Center and he has appeared multiple times on BizWest's list of Top 50 Most Influential Business Leaders in Northern Colorado, receiving the top honor in the real estate category in 2026. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Colorado State University and also continues to serve a select brokerage clientele through CBRE as a Senior Vice President.



Jake Hallauer, CCIM

Principal

Jake serves as a Principal at Truestead Group and as a Senior Vice President at CBRE, where he has brokered hundreds of millions of dollars in land, multifamily, investment, and commercial real estate transactions across Northern Colorado.

His work spans master-planned community land sales, apartment community dispositions, build-to-suits, and net-leased investment properties, reflecting broad expertise across asset types and deal structures. A committed civic leader, Jake co-founded the Northern Colorado ULI Committee, has served as Board President of the affordable housing nonprofit Neighbor to Neighbor, and contributed to the Development Committee at CARE Housing — demonstrating a consistent dedication to expanding housing access in Larimer County. Jake was recognized as a 2013 40 Under Forty honoree by the Northern Colorado Business Report and a 2023 Notable Leader in Real Estate by BizWest. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Colorado State University and an M.S. in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver, and earned his CCIM designation — a credential held by fewer than 6% of commercial real estate professionals nationally.



Brecken Glenn

Principal

Brecken Glenn is a Principal at Truestead Group, where she leads the development of multifamily communities that are thoughtfully designed to be vibrant, welcoming places for people to call home.

Driven by a genuine passion for how the built environment shapes the way people live, Brecken works closely with consultants, government officials, and community partners to guide projects from concept through execution — ensuring that each development reflects both the needs of its residents and the character of its surrounding community. A Fort Collins native and licensed Colorado real estate broker, she brings a finance background from Southern Methodist University and the discipline of a Division I athlete to every project she undertakes. Her commitment to responsible, community-centered growth extends to her leadership of the ULI Northern Colorado Committee and her participation in the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce Local Legislative Affairs Committee and the Water Literate Leaders of Northern Colorado program, where she deepens her expertise in the land use and water resource issues that will define Northern Colorado's future. Named to BizWest's 2025 40 Under Forty class, Brecken is recognized as one of the region's most influential emerging leaders.



Allison Leatherman, CPA

Investment Manager

Allison Leatherman is the Investment Manager at Truestead Group, serving as the primary point of contact for investors and playing a central role in the evaluation, funding, and coordination of new investment opportunities across the firm's growing portfolio.

Her financial acumen is built on a career that spans audit and analysis roles at Ernst & Young, Southwest Airlines, and local firm Dye & Whitcomb — experience that gives her both the technical rigor and the broad perspective to navigate complex real estate transactions and deliver clear, confident communication to investors. A Certified Public Accountant with a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas, Allison brings a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to everything, ensuring investors have the transparency and confidence they expect from a trusted partner.



Aaron Scheidt

Accountant & Office Manager

Aaron keeps the financial engine running at Truestead Group, managing budgets, financial statements, payroll, investor distributions, and year-end tax preparation. A Colorado native, he holds a B.S. in Finance from Colorado State University and brings a steady, detail-oriented approach to supporting both the investment and operations sides of the business.
